The Turbo Prop aircraft is a smart choice for many charter flights because of their excellent combination of low hourly costs and fuel efficiency. Certain models can even accommodate as many passengers and luggage as a pricier Light jet. Because they have a smaller range than a Light jet, Turbo Prop planes are particularly suited for short trips, such as flights from San Francisco to L.A. or between major metro hubs in Texas.
A turbo prop engine is a turbine engine that drives an aircraft propeller. A turboprop consists of an intake, reduction gearbox, compressor, combustor, turbine, and a propelling nozzle. Air is drawn into the intake and compressed by the compressor. Fuel is then added to the compressed air in the combustor, where the fuel-air mixture then combusts. The hot combustion gases expand through the turbine. Some of the power generated by the turbine is used to drive the compressor.
This is why many are choosing the Turbo prop since it is more cost-efficient, ultra-reliable and comfortable. Often overlooked, Turbo props offer a genuine alternative to a light jet charter. Incorrectly perceived as old-fashioned, the turboprop is in fact a more recent invention than the jet engine, and makes for a more fuel efficient alternative on short-haul routes
Even though Turbo Prop planes are generally best suited for short flights of one to two hours in duration because they have a shorter range than any Private Jet category. Because of the amazing cost efficiencies, the hourly rates are scaled on an approximate hourly charter price before fuel, taxes and other fees. Which in turn not only saves you money, but could also be a great investment opportunity as well. Based on the strength of our current network of certified operators available, we are frequently able to find more efficiencies that allow us to offer even better charter rates for the future.
